BTW: Actual recordings will be done to an external drive ... but the tests on the internal were surprising .. quite a testimant to the value of a 7200 rpm drive in a laptop over the more common...

I am starting to feel that way as well. It will be quite an interesting comparison, however ... as they have such similar specs and costs! I will say this, I bet the iMac will have a better display...

Thanks, but ... I'm still looking for some suggestions for plain old simple cases … just good old fashioned mid-tower cases that happen to be able to accommodate (really old fashioned) full sized PCI...
