This has been discussed loads of times and the short answer is no 2 003's or 002's can't be linked even via two laptops as there is no way of actually locking them properly even via a MTC.

I have a G5 quad with 4 gig of RAM and its fast and works fine, on 10.4 and 7.4le. I have no reason to complain or think about upgrading to 10.5....or move over to a pentium mac.

Quite easy to do I would have thought, just bus the track to two tracks and EQ the one track and compress the other with some eq. Or ghost the audio track and eq and compress it and have the original...

57's will work on snare, hat and Kit toms, though you'll need to work on mic placement to get the best sound, kick and floor toms will need different mics to get the full sound as they are bass heavy...

1st way, solo each drum and record a mono sound..left out only to a single track, that way alowes you to eq, pan and effect each piece of the drum sound.

Getting an Error DAE 5.1 or higher

When PT loads it gets so far but before connecting to the 002R it says it needs a DAE of 5.1 or higher, I have installed from the disks, anyone know how to solve this please?

No, I leave everythig where it is and well alone. I only ever install over Pro Tools. I do not have other aplications on my Mac either its a dedicated system. G5 Quad with 2.5 G of ram running 10.4.8...
