A few retailers are still saying to uninstall in their customer guidance which is confusing and why I was asking.

Although not required is there anything to be gained from uninstalling...

I am upgrading Pro Tools 12.8.3 to 2020.12 on Mac Catalina.

Do I need to uninstall the old version first?

I have heard conflicting advice on whether Pro Tools requires an uninstall before...

Oh yeah of course. That is paramount when dealing with audio. I never record to internal disk, just use that to run Pro Tools. I currently use a Samsung 850Evo SSD like Trent W.

I went ahead and got the iMac. So far (6 weeks in) not a single issue with the Fusion Drive and Pro Tools. Latest version for each.

1. It is fine to install 12.6.1 over the top of previous versions (ie. not need to uninstall)
2. You should uninstall the old driver before...

I am really in two minds about continuing with PT. PT users say the midi sucks, but as I never used any other DAW I dunno what I am missing! What am I missing? Also plenty Logic users complain about...
