My only complaint with CA VI's I've tried is they are CPU hogs, especially Dreamsynth and Voltage Modular. But the CA2600 is light on CPU.

I don't think you'll be disappointed. I learned sythesis on the ARP 2600 and a Moog. CA has done a nice job modeling their CA2600 after the ARP. Brings back memories of grabbing patch chords and...

Ben, UVI has some VERY nice freebies. But, their paid modules are great too. And Falcon...well...what can I say? It's a beast! Its an amazing VI with lots of powerful tools for sound design.
