Odd, I am not getting the slow MP3 or wave import on 2022.5. I DID get it on 2022.4. 2 different systems. One running Big Sur and another Monterey.
Monterey system is PT Ultimate 2022.5 even.

According to AVID 12.3 is supported. Avid make no mention of 12.4

the update fixed not being able to import via the import dialog. I could drag and drop, which was slow. The update improved that, for me.

updating to 2022.5 fixed the mp3 import issue for me. I also updated one of our rooms that has an HD Native system. MP 6.1 OS 12.3 PT Ultimate 2022.5 and had no issues with mp3 import.

are you using the same session? It doesn't look like it. Are all your plug ins up to date on the M1 machine? Meaning the plug ins ARE M1 compatible? OS version?
