The only thing I have tested is I have 2022.4 and Monterey on an external drive and all I have been doing is opening old sessions and checking that issue (specifically with Avid Carbon interface)...

Ultimate has 2048 audio tracks Studio 512. They both have 512 Instrument tracks

I looked at this also and one reason to possibly consider 4- 8 TD system drive is, you get get a jump of read/write speed at 4 TB (over the 1 or 2TB drives )
