Nope, that's not possible. Pro Tools only communicates with Digidesign hardware. You'd need a 002/003 if you'd want more inputs.

You didn't get the MBox Pro I assume? than you would have 4 ins..

I'm afraid not, afaik... I think the original mbox is supported untill PT 7, so you could get that update, but I'm not sure. Someone else will chime in any minute.. ;)

I already laid the $150 down a while ago, even before 8 was out.. :-)
I bought the upgrade to 7.4 with the amnesty upgrade to 8. IMO PT 8 is a big step up from 7.4 and I use it on XP if I want it to...

Win7 can work, with the beta drivers, but remember it's beta, so it might give some hickups and so on.. Check out some of the topics here on win7 if you want to go that road.

I'm not sure, but clicking on the windows update should take you to a website from microsoft where you're able to check if your computer is up to date. If it's up to date, try a search on that page...

Check Windows Update in your Windows menu (Start > All Programs > Windows Update). It should be somewhere on top..

I find the Win7 backup feature easy to use and it has all the options you'd need from a backup program.. (in my case..)

In case it's not showing, go to Menu > View > Mix Window Views > select the Inserts A-E

Windows Image backup in Win7 works very nice..! I use at as my main backup. It's fairly easy to setup and it lets you burn a repair/boot disk within the program. Very easy.. :)
