Re: Trying build my system and having troubles

Not entirely understanding what you're having problems with here.

I'm pretty sure that support for the Control 24 has been long discontinued and won't work with either Windows 10 or your HD...

Re: For Sale: Avid Digilink I/O license

The folks at Avid have assured me that this is not the case. However I have decided to not sell my extra license.

Re: The Satellite Link - or, I feel like a total n00b

That's supposed to be what AVB (or TSN, or whatever they are calling it this month) does. But, show me where I can download an AVB Virtual Soundcard, lol. Or an audio interface with AVB to...

Re: The Satellite Link - or, I feel like a total n00b

So pretty much the same as my set up, one machine running HD Native and one running DVS. How do you clock the DVS system to the same video reference when DVS doesn't connect to a Sync HD with a video...

Re: The Satellite Link - or, I feel like a total n00b

What does this mean? That each time you hit play in the session that they will be more and more out of sync with each other?

In my use case, as a redundant recording system when I'm recording...

Re: The Satellite Link - or, I feel like a total n00b

Looks like I got in just under the wire, since I haven't upgraded to 2021.3.1 yet. Don't know how I missed it in the release notes, or maybe I just didn't understand what it was.

When running a...

The Satellite Link - or, I feel like a total n00b

So, I'm not sure why I didn't know that this works, or that it works so well. But I feel like a total n00b now that I have discovered the Satellite Link function in Protools. :o

And that fact that...

Re: MTRX Studio with Dante on the secondary Ethernet port on an unmanaged switch?

You're running Dante and AVB on the same network? The two are not supposed to coexist.

Re: MTRX Studio with Dante on the secondary Ethernet port on an unmanaged switch?

With the way you have your network set up, I think you need to switch the MRTX Studio into Switched Mode, rather than Redundant Mode. I think that will solve your problems. Except that it limits the...

Re: MTRX Studio with Dante on the secondary Ethernet port on an unmanaged switch?

Switched mode is what Avid calls daisy chain mode. Daisy chain is what Audinate (the inventors of Dante) and Yamaha calls it. So Avid has to call it something else because they have to be difficult...

Re: MTRX Studio with Dante on the secondary Ethernet port on an unmanaged switch?

Negative.

On a redundant Dante network, both ports transmit all of the same data, audio and control at the same time. They are two separate networks that work independently. What you've done is...

Re: MTRX Studio, need more than 16 analog inputs

Do you want a unit with mic preamps built in? Or do you already have a bunch of extra preamps and just need something with line level inputs?

Check into the Focusrite A16R for 16 channels of line...

Re: MTRX Studio, need more than 16 analog inputs

Why would you buy another MTRX Studio? There's better and cheaper ways to do this.

Re: MTRX Studio, need more than 16 analog inputs

You can get an HD I/O and attach it to the PORT 2 Digilink port with whatever I/O card you need on the MTRX Studio for another 16 channels. Then you attach another HD I/O to the second Digilink port...

Re: Yamaha DM1000 and Pro Tools

Unless you need a console that will actually mix, AS WELL AS work as a controller for Protools. The DM1000/2000 still, to this day do a bunch of things that other modem console won't and can't. And...

Compared to what? How were you monitoring before? Headphones? From a different interface?

The DM1000 is over 18 years old. The D-A converters are probably way behind what more modern interfaces...

Re: MTRX Studio

This. DVS isn't meant for multitracking and over dubbing, etc. You're latency is going to be hell when trying to track over other things. Abd it may not be stable doing that. You are mich better off...

Re: Some clean multichannel eq plugin?

Ehh...I disagree with this statement. The differences you will find between a $62 Dayton Audio EMM-6, a $600 Earthworks M23R and a $2,500 DPA 4004 mostly disappear when you get them 6" apart. For...

Re: Go to session meals

There's a place in Branson, MO where they actually do throw the food at you. You pay extra for it and have to wait 3 or 4 hours just to get in. ;)
