Re: Satellite link issues

You have it right, I am monitoring MC audio thru the cpu output into the Omni. You're saying though with an Avid interface it should be in sync? Could one use, say, an Avid-approved audio interface...

Re: Just got my Omni. Some questions...

I think this is the way you differentiate between "consumer" line level and "professional" line level. Most consumer gear runs 14dB quieter than pro gear (a la mixing boards, I/O's etc). Used to have...

Re: Satellite link issues

Mr. Kyne, I'll toss my woes in here too. Using Video Satellite with HD|Native and monitoring Media Composer audio thru my Omni. When VS is engaged, MC audio becomes 3-4 frames late. None of the...

Re: HD4(TDM) vs HD|Native test session to open

Sorry, yes I had to change my OMNI outputs since 1-2 were already set as stereo monitor (getting my head around the new Mixer). Did not reduce voices or change any busses other than moving outputs...

Re: What external hard drive enclosure(s) do you use?

How funny, our personal experience has been exactly opposite. LaCie have been workhorses for us for many years, whereas OWC/Macsales enclosures fail within 6 months. Not isolated incidents, we have...

Re: DVD with Surround mixes

Compressor is only available thru Final Cut Studio, but you may be able to find an old copy of DVD Studio Pro (v1 or 2) with A.Pack which will basically do the same thing. I actually really liked...

Re: Aurora Gone, Replacement for Fuse X Video Cards?

Hi Irl,

We're all struggling to look for a Fuse-X replacement these days. If you are still using your G4 tower, I highly recommend the Miro DC30 with the free Xact drivers off the web.

If...

Re: KeyBoard Shortcuts to Die for

Ok, let's see what I've got here:

Re: Video Card Roundup

Ahh, yes, you do end up losing the small movie window. So you add another splitter -- one output for distribution and one for the operator. Problem solved?

Re: Video Card Roundup

Hi reader,

Can you elaborate a little bit please? My impression of using an additional monitor card was that it was the closest thing to a DC30 in regards to using any QT movie.

Thanks everyone for responding. It definitely helps with the decision making process.

Re: What are some names of reliable CD media?

Second vote for Taiyo Yuden branded CD-R and DVD-R media.

If you want to go seriously overboard try the MAM-A stuff.

Re: OT FCP and 48,048

don't have any direct experience in this realm, but i have noticed that FCP is happy to mix sample rates. 44.1, 48, mp3, it chugs it down all the same...however i don't know what it will do with a...

Re: Quality dif. between Compressor and Neyricnk

Hi Minister,

As I understand it, the encoding possibilities for AC-3 are limited by the codec itself. In which case I'd say that there is no difference in Compressor vs. Neyrinck. But...

I...

Re: Enlarge Quicktime Movies in ProTools

my experience has been that you don't have to do a 'save as' in quicktime pro...just resize, save, quit quicktime, reimport the movie. done.
