Re: M1 Max MacBook Pro Monterey, Kontakt Crashing Pro Tools

Has anyone made any progress here? Reading through this thread it seems some people are using Kontakt in Pro Tools just fine on M1 Pro and M1 Max. I'm really curious to know what the difference is.

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

But Avid markets Pro Tools as if it CAN be used as a spoon even through it's still very much just a fork. The suggestions I've listed would help to make PT a true spork!

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

I'm not sure what you're saying. These features ARE available for HDX users. They work fine on our HDX rigs. Seems silly to cripple native in such an unnecessary way.

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

And I've been using it for years.. but it's another area that OTHER daws have included as part of the software which allows deeper integration.

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

The amount of delay is always a problem if you're using sidechain for rhythmic stuff. Makes it SO frustrating to get the right feel. It's much more fun in ableton and I end up being more creative.

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

Side-chain delay compensation is HDX only! This is madness.

Want to pump the bass with the kick drum.. it won't be in sync as Avid has turned off delay compensation for side-chain's unless you've...

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

Deeper audio manipulation and fx chains for more creative sound design.

Ableton's simple resampling makes is so easy to come up with new sounds and be creative. This is even more powerful when...

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

Vocal alignment seems like something that Pro Tools should really have implemented years ago.

I'm not a Cubase user (yet) but this also looks really attractive.

Vocal Alignment in Cubase...

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

Built in pitch correction is standard in most DAWs. Again, I was doing this with Roland V-Vocal in Sonar this back in 2004!

VariAudio 3 in Cubase 10 is looking really slick right now for speedy...

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

Track folders would be huge. We've been asking for ages and every major DAW has them! I relied on these heavily for organization back in 2004 when I was still using Sonar, (which was already 64 bit...

Re: In what area is Pro Tools REALLY lacking??

After contacting Avid, I was told that Pro Tools doesn't currently support resolutions higher than 1920 x 1080! Any higher and the UI is incredibly sluggish! Resizing tracks, moving windows around,...

Re: HDX end-of-cycle?

I'm not sure how you're coming to this conclusion. You realize that an HDX rig can still run all the plugins as Native too right? Am I missing something?

Re: noise issues

Probably too simple but...

In Playback Engine,
"Ignore Errors During Playback/Record (may cause clicks and pops)"

Do you have this checked?

By any chance are you running Ozone?

Re: Pro Tools Slow/Laggy

Thanks you for your help.

One of the big problems is overall legginess, trying to scroll up and down or left and right or resizing tracks.

It gets worse as plugins are added. In an empty...

Re: Sell my HDX?

Thanks guys!

I use an Apogee Symphony so no need to sell the interface, (although I am seriously considering the Antelope Orion32).

There are so few DSP plugs available, so most of my sessions...
