12.3 / El Capitan 10.11 here. It's slow as hell and suffering under load. I'm hoping things get better or I'll be moving back down the OS ladder.

VEP users, I read that you can use AU plugins (in VEP5) and route them to PT. Is this true, and if so, does that mean one can use (for instance) Space Designer...

I'd increase the current ram and ad an SSD such as a Samsung 840.

I've using this same config with PT11 and would have no problem using it to mimic what you're after.

Instant, effective HF absorbers that you can use elsewhere in your studio (side walls, behind speakers, overhead, etc) when not in use...

You could buy an older Mac Pro and upgrade the CPU (kind of a pita) and upgrade the drive(s) to SSD? I did this on a 2008 MP, and whoa.... What a difference.

Hackintoshes seem to be the ticket...

I'm curious if anyone here is using PT10 and Logic 9 with a 002r? (I assume at least a few are, but wasn't sure) :-)

Further, I wonder if those who are find that Logic's Output is much quieter...

We had this problem on our Windows PT10 machine, and switching out of Auto Input monitoring fixes this. We're left...

I had the same problem, (along with insane stuttering, etc) and this fixed it for me.

For kicks, try using "Input Only" monitoring, and let me know if that helps at all.

I had a recent problem that sounds somewhat similar, and I'd be interested to see if this helps you...
