I ended up using the AT4033 and the SM57 in an XY pattern. Couldn't hear any phasing, and I'm really happy with how it came out. Hear for yourself:

Wow.... that's a great link. Thanks.

How do you think the xy pattern would sound with two different mics? I only have one condensor, so I'll be using the AT4033 and an SM57.

If you switch it over to mono, you should hear if there's any really bad phasing. Basically you'll hear some frequencies drop out in mono that sound fine in stereo. However, it would be a lot easier,...

Thanks! I think those are os 9.x only though. I'm using PT 6.1 in os 10.2.6. Do you know if there are any for os x?

I'm recording a guitar track soon, and I want to use two mics. Last time I did this, I clicked my mbox over to mono and listened for phasing. I didn't hear any, but I'd really like to check for sure....
