I have a similar system, but an HDX card with the 5770. I'm trying to figure out if there's a video card that uses a 6 pin aux power, or if there's some other way to power these newer video cards. ...

Re: New Mac Pro

I feel fortunate to have had the same dilemma recently, and went with an older Mac Pro. It looks like almost twice the processing for half of the price. (Well, at least +%150 the processing power) ...

Re: Control|24 and ProControl with Pro Tools 11?

Yeah, I'd probably pay something at this point to get the Control 24 to work with PT11. I imagine many would. How can we make this happen?

Re: PT11 Co-install: How do I update to Mac OSX 10.8.4? Not OSX 10.8.5..

Same issue here, but with and HDX upgrade. 10.8.5 seems to be running smoothly here.

Re: Control|24 and ProControl with Pro Tools 11?

Adding to the chorus: This takes away a reason to buy an Avid control surface to replace my Control 24. I originally purchased a Digi control surface because I believed the support would be better,...

Re: replacement faders for Control 24

A couple of years later, and I find myself in the same situation. I'm glad the younger version of myself is so helpful.

Re: Please hit -6 db to -4 db as an average, with an RMS of -18

A phase scope would only work on a stereo track, as it measures the relationship between the two sides. The RMS metering is a bonus of that plugin.
I find the Dorough plug useful, but you...

Also, just have locate points at the beginning and end of...

Re: Who has had SUCCESS with 9.0.6 ? (Non HD)

Working well here, with a 2011 2.2Ghz 15" MBP. I've also got 2 SSDs and 8GB of ram. The system doesn't seem to go over 12% with 120 channel mix sessions with many instances of Altiverb, Waves...

Re: replacement faders for Control 24

Re: replacement faders for Control 24

I know this is an old thread, but I need a few of these faders at the moment. It looks like the Alps part number is RSA0K11V901S, but it's hard to be sure, and their minimum order is 84. Also, I...

Re: 8.1 on 10.5.8 ?

I don't understand where you're getting this info from. You're comparing the speed of a Macbook to an 8 core 3.2? I think you'd see different "optimization" results for those computers.

Re: Core Audio

Long ago, I just hooked the optical up to a PSX-100. It's easier to patch into a board/C24. No fuss, problem solved.

Re: Protools 8 verdict

I'm still on 7.4.2 Suckas! So far, I'm glad I avoided that trap. So tired of installing OS/PT/plugs, that I'll wait for a confirmed good version.

btw, you can pretty much drag the instruments...
