Re: Shortcut for "show all used automation"

Is it not as simple as control + 5 (on the numeric keypad)? This will show you which parameter types are being automated.

I don't think a shortcut exists which will display all automated...

Re: Removing pops from vinyl

I'm a record collector and dealer and I can say first and foremost, go to the LP it's self and get it proffesionally cleaned using a vacuum cleaning machine.

Until then don't try and get your...

Re: Volume of song is too low after mixdown

In my learnings I'd say it's best only to put plug-in's on the master fader which don't colour the sound - for example the Maxim plug-in should never go on the master fader really. It should be going...

Re: Volume of song is too low after mixdown

Although you can touch the master fader to lower volume, try and bring tracks down in one big group as opposed to lowering the MF.

If it's a home production with no mastering engineer, read up on...

Re: Limewire shut down-finally

Yes, it is good news but it's not enough is it. A very complicated situation, I don't condone piracy in any way but I can't help but feel the record labels are the ones needing to change aswell.

Re: OT - how do you distance yourself?

Have a hobby you love as much or almost as much as you do working with sound.

I sell records more so than I do mix/record/edit and this at the moment and this really gives me a fresh feeling when...

Re: Volume Problems

As was mentioned above try control/windows clicking the volume fader and see if changes it or maybe you have volume automation disabled. To reenable it press control/windows and 5 on the numeric...

Re: Master fader or not?

I answered my own question there. Of course audio as any fader changes would effect the input to plug on the master fader.

Great thread!

Re: Master fader or not?

So on audio tracks and on aux tracks the inserts are all pre fader meaning that actual fader it'se self controls gain occuring after plug-ins etc.

On the master fader, the fader it's self is...

Re: Master fader or not?

Does pulling back the master fader only apply to PTHD or is it ok in the LE worl aswell? I thought the master fader was post fader and thatin the PT world you always have to pull things back at the...

Re: Heads Up, M Audio New Product Line

That's for the Multi-function wheel (the big one on the right).

You hold down the "Multi" button and it brings up a floating window / control panel on your computer monitor that allows you to...

I wonder if they sorted out the annoying digital type noise that happened with some laptops?

Re: Pro tools 8 track meters???

Try control + Alt + M at the same time, that will toggle between narrow and wide meters which might help you.

Re: Best ADC plugin

Re: Bouncing to disk and sample rates.

Hi, Kinh

Redcording at 176.4kHz sample rate is acceptable as it's a multiple of your final destination sample rate.

Recording at 48Khz would not be wise as it is not a multiple of 44.1Khz, the...

Re: importing OMF with pro tools 8

If all the audio files started at the same point then you could if it was to be used for music. In the real world though audio files are seconds long after edits etc and can come in at any time.

Re: EQ III input and output gain

I'm still trying to get my head around this myself!

The gain knobs only go minus 20 down and upto plus 20 up so that 40dB of gain adjustment.

If you change the input gain knob by 10dB negative,...

Re: EQ III input and output gain

As for the last one above I am sure that it's because of the Pan Pot Law (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panning_%28audio%29).

A MONO signal going to a Stereo output gets reduced by 2.5 dB in Pro...
