Re: New computer time-what to expect drive wise?

Interesting. I'm considering it. I did send in my machine to OWC a while back and upgrade the processors from 2 x 2.3 quad core to 2 x 3.32 quad core. I wonder if this negates my ability to up the...

Re: New computer time-what to expect drive wise?

I just learned about this, but I'm hesitant to give it a try. I'm prone to making matters worse when it comes to these things. How difficult was it for you to pull off? I'd rate my abilities in...

Re: New computer time-what to expect drive wise?

Right, gotcha.

I definitely will install Super Duper on my new system drive, but I'm not sure I can then use it on the new system drive and tell it to look at my old system drive and copy...

Re: New computer time-what to expect drive wise?

I know the new system drive will be bootable, but to copy everything from my old system drive to the new one, I may need to boot up off the old one and use Super Duper to copy.

And yes, even...

New computer time-what to expect drive wise?

I'm purchasing a new "trashcan" Mac soon. My old 2009 "cheese grater" Mac has been ok, but due to its age I'm stuck on OS 10.9.5, and that's preventing me from upgrading my most used software-...

Copying MIDI to next beat

Can anyone tell me how to copy a MIDI note to the next beat on the grid instead of the next bar? Is there a setting when duplicating MIDI that you can set to determine how far away from the original...

Re: PT 11 Midi edit window "gray"

HAHAHA!

Thank you so much guys. 13 years of ProTools and I guess I've never accidentally zoomed out that far. I am definitely moving too fast for my own good today.

The fact that I don't...

PT 11 Midi edit window "gray"

Anyone ever seen this before (see attached pic)? The Midi Editor window is opening with this large gray section. Just started happening mid session. I've done multiple restarts and trashed PT...

Re: keyboard shortcut to view entire session

Yes- I think it was some volume automation that got written to an aux track. No idea how I wrote that in there. ?

Thanks for your help!

Re: keyboard shortcut to view entire session

That was it! Thanks for reposting that suggestion. Somehow a bit of automation snuck in to my small template for PT v11 on an aux track! It was driving me nuts. Very appreciative of your help!

Re: keyboard shortcut to view entire session

Bumping this back up, cause I'm definitely pushing Option + A on a Mac and it zooms out to see an hour of timeline, even though my current session is only a minute and 40 seconds.

??

Anyone...

keyboard shortcut to view entire session

This is assuredly a simple one, but it's got me stumped.

In PT v10, I used Command + A to view everything on my entire timeline. It would fit it perfectly into my window.

In v11, that same...

Re: What would you do re: new ProTools 11 install

Yep- I cloned my original OS 10.6.8 drive before I started any of this. Got caught with the OS update. It was either press on to see what PT v11 held, or stay with v10 and keep wondering. I chose...

What would you do re: new ProTools 11 install

I'm throwing this out there to get some opinions--

I'm on a early 2009 Mac Pro 2x2.26Ghz quad core intel xeon computer.

Last night I upgraded from ProTools Native HD v10.0.0 to v11.0.2 and the...

But I wasn't able to create mono subpaths. I could only create...

Thanks for your reply Craig.

What is tripping me up is this bit from the manual:

"You cannot create subpaths for outputs in the Outputs page of IO Setups. You can, however create overlapping...

I/O Output question

I'm running PT v10 HD Native, upgraded from my old trusty 002R, so I'm a little underwater with my new hardware (two 16x16 AVID HD I/Os and a BURL B2 ADC and Lavry Black DAC) and software.

I...

Re: Bringing down all tracks volume while maintaining automation

Will be on HD Native in the very near future - I'll look into that mode.

The trim is an interesting idea. Could work!

Any other methods to solve my quandry?
