Re: Anyone running Accel cards in Thunderbolt to PCIe chassis?

Just my opinion, but I would not waste time one this for one simple reason(okay, three)
1-Any native system on a modern computer will beat even HD3 on horsepower(so HD1 is a non-starter for serious...

Re: Multiple copies of plugins - delete?

I do use that folder sometimes. For temporary stuff, using a separate folder is easier IF the Plugins(unused) folder has stuff in it already(a separate folder avoids any confusion on what to move...

Re: In my avid link says I have PT12.2 but no license

You most likely need to uninstall 12 and install whatever version you have a license for. But, before you do that, open iLok Manager and look in the "Available" section to make sure you don't have a...

Re: Older TDM style "voice stealing" workflow an advantage?

Since you have 2 systems, I would update one of them with a newer and faster computer. I suspect you would be shocked at the difference in horsepower with a modern 12 core, running at 3.5(ish) GHz...

Re: Multiple copies of plugins - delete?

Not sure I understand, but most plugins can just be removed from the Plugins folder. If that doesn't work, I would uninstall the entire package that included the freebie, then re-install just the...

Re: Mac Pro mid2012 12 or 6 core for PT2018

As long as you keep the OS version that is compatible with PT10(or whatever version of PT you get), it should do fine as long as you don't try to update things much past PT2018(check the...

Re: error message (-9073)??

And include the specs on the external drive. On an old system like yours, USB 1 is too slow. If its firewire, how fast is the drive and how full is it. Its bad practice to let a recording drive get...

Re: VCA issue

It depends on the tracks assigned to that VCA. If its all mono, or a mix of mono and stereo, the VCA will show a mono meter. If its all stereo tracks, the VCA will show a stereo meter. Metering on...

Re: record enable two instrument tracks

2 other solutions:
1-highlight both tracks(so the track names are "lit"), hold Alt+Shift and click the RECORD button on either track(both should light up)
2-after putting one track in to RECORD,...

Re: Protools "locks out" all other audio on computer

What he said^^^ This has been Windows protocol for 99% of us forever. Have an interface for Pro Tools and let everything else playback thru the on-board sound card. Now, I'm sure you want to hear...

Re: Win10 Pro - Class Compliant Hardware Problem - Midi

Trashing prefs will default all settings, including those under the Peripherals menu. Re-setting those should restore D-Command function. Guitardom's Trasher utility allows you to save all those...

Re: Setting up Cue Mixes with Persist Sends during LLM

I also got the doubling effect so I gave up on LLM years ago. Truthfully, I don't care as I have no issues doing multiple headphone mixes out of my sessions running at the 64 buffer setting(HDN with...

Re: Exported Track Folders should retain contents

Sounds to me like you are doing this backwards. Here's a couple of options:
#1-save your template session as a normal session. Create a new session and import only what you need from the template...

Re: Exported Track Folders should retain contents

One question that may matter here is: what will happen with the exported session? If its going to another PT user for editing or mixing, I would be inclined to export without any folders. Why(a great...

Re: PT not launching

In addition, if your iLok has any expired license for Pro Tools, that can confuse the issue and cause PT to not open as it "sees" the expired asset and stops in its tracks. Deactivate any expired...

Check your playback buffer setting. When recording, keep that set as low as your computer can handle(64 or 128 should be fine).

Re: Meter Reading For Incoming Signal...

Hey Bruce, I think you are just misunderstanding some tech stuff. The only way actual recording level will drop is if you turn down the preamp gain(which you will hear, no matter how you meter)....
