Re: Cycle button on D-Control

Hi Pythagor,

My cycle buttons on my Blue D-Control work as expected. I'm on PT2023.12.0 with a 5,1 Mac Pro OS10.15.7. I wonder if it could have something to do with the OS that you are on?

Good...

Re: Mac Studio M2 With Icon D Control

One other concern with Neyrick is I believe currently it only works with the D-Command and not the D-Control. I'm not sure if they have plans to add the D-Control. I don't know for sure though. I've...

Re: PT Ultimate 2023.6 HD Driver Removed

Hi cvicente22,

I guess I didn't go down far enough into the download center. I thought that the different pro tools versions were just the software. I was looking for the HD drivers on the top...

Re: PT Ultimate 2023.6 HD Driver Removed

Hello,

I'm looking to upgrade my PT Ultimate HD Native system from 21.10 to 23.9. I'm on a 5,1 Mac Pro running Catalina. It seems from what I've read I should install the 23.3 HD driver instead of...

Re: Volume Trim Resetting bug?

I don't think that preference applies to read trim. I'm pretty sure that only applies to latch trim, touch trim or write trim.

Re: Volume Trim Resetting bug?

If I'm understanding you correctly I believe what you are describing is the normal behavior. If you want to write the trim automation to the track you have to coalesce the the trim adjustment. If you...

Re: workflow to vocal-up solo-up mixes

I just put the vocal VCA fader into trim mode and do my vocal up or down mixes. After I've printed them I just take the VCA out of trim mode. Then I'm back to my standard mix. I title the mixes how...

reinstatment problems

I have a client that has been using Pro tools for years (he’s on PT10). He just bought a new computer and was considering switching to Logic since he didn’t want a PT subscription. I convinced him to...

Re: Focusrite Buys Sonnox

It makes me very nervous seeing this. I rely on their plugins everyday. I really hope they continue to support and maintain all of the legacy plugins and continue to operate as they have going...

Re: muted when all mute are on.

Your output routing isn’t going anywhere. Notice the outputs are grayed out in the edit window. In your io setup you are routing to an output that doesn’t have a physical output. Change your outputs...

Re: If you were starting from scratch what plugs would you buy?

AVID, Sonnox and Soundtoys, covers about 90% of my needs. Maybe a couple other reverbs and effects from Relab and Eventide.

There are also the specialty tools like Melodyne, RX and Revoice Pro...

Re: D-Command faders not working

Have you gone into the Utility menu and done the fader tests? Do any of the fader tests do anything?

The few times I've had these problems a recal always fixed it for me. But it sounds like maybe...

Re: Who else is still using a Mac Pro 5,1 or older computer?

When I was still on my PT10 HD3 system I was using 10.9.5. It wasn't officially supported by Avid but Pro Tools worked fine. I'm not sure if that will solve your mail and browser issues though.

Re: Who else is still using a Mac Pro 5,1 or older computer?

I'm still on a 2010 5,1 running Mojave PT 2020.9 HDN. I also have another 2010 5,1 system here on High Sierra with PT 2021.3 HDX.

Both systems are working great and i don't feel the need to...

Re: Mastering

Loud mostly comes from the EQ balance. If you want it to be competitively loud you'll most likely have to sacrifice some subs and add more presence (2k-5k). Also, distortion is your friend, that's a...

Re: Question "Commit" and VCA automation

Well I did a couple tests myself. I'm getting the same results that you found. If you keep the committed audio in the VCA group you do get a double dose of VCA automation.

So I was obviously wrong...

Re: Question "Commit" and VCA automation

That's interesting, so in the commit process it records all of the automation data to the committed audio. Which kind of makes sense. But after the audio has been committed does the VCA automation...

Re: Question "Commit" and VCA automation

I don’t commit subgroups but I do work with VCAs a lot. My understanding is that as long as they are still members of the VCA group they will still follow the VCA automation. If you want the...
