Re: Running PT with dual monitors? Anybody...?

If the video card supports two monitors, there'll be no problem here. Just plug in the screen and the OS handles everything. If the video output on your powerbook merely mirrors its own display, you...

Re: firewire offset

the English translation of "mou" is slackness (according to http://dictionary.reference.com/translate/text.html). So you must mean that the video through the camera is a little later than the audio?...

Re: Dual 2.0 or 2.5Ghz G5?

I'm helping my dad spec out a similar system at the moment. apparently the 2.0G is better than the 1.8G because there are no corners cut. Things like the 6 memory slots are among them.
The guy at...

Re: new hardware comparison

As things go, I MUST upgrade my G4 (there is a reason it was called a Yikes! motherboard)
So (after robbing a bank to pay for all this) I'll definately step up to a G5. PCI vs FW is a non-issue now....

Re: new hardware comparison (2)

Thankyou all for your help.
I really dont think the mbox will suit my purposes either as i have a moderate collection of synths to integrate into the system. I'm heading toward the 'virtual studio'...

new hardware comparison

I'm upgrading my 001 system in the near future and am looking at a 002 type system and G5.
What is the opinion of 002R Vs 002 with a control surface; and what is the recommended control surface?
I...

Re: Digi002 & Command 8

short answer: 002 is a integrated control surface and audio IO connecting by (fast) Firewire. Command8 is a control surface, connecting by (slow) USB, although it does have IO for monitoring.

is it just me or is there a conspicuous blank panel there in the middle?
I'm concerned that there is only one support for a monitor arm. Surely there needs to be the option of two...

Re: More than one 002r?

Moreover, you don't get more 'voices' because you add more modules. This is somewhat like the TDM system, except TDM requires you add more cards rather than external equipment. The external equipment...

Re: INSTALLED PANTHER AND NOW MBOX CRASHES ON STAR

Panther must require re-working of the hardware drivers. It generally takes longer to do that. Digi software talks to the hardware on a very low level, I believe, which is something to do with their...

Re: ok g5 question
