Re: Crummy Bass sound

Just a suggestion. If you have an account with IK Multimedia, you can download Ampeg SVX Uno for free. I had an account just from installing the free demo of Amplitube that came with my ignition...

Re: Digital Static / Fuzz / Noise with 8.0.4

Another update. Just wanted to post more findings in case anyone else is still having these problems. Apologies if this is duplicative. I found some similar posts, but the solutions seems to be...

Re: Digital Static / Fuzz / Noise with 8.0.4

So, just a quick update on the issue. Not sure if this helps.

I did some testing this morning (because I love testing, and absolutely hate recording).

Anyway, I set the buffer size to...

Re: Low Latency Monitoring 8.04

+1. Having the exact same issue. Anyone found a fix? Or is this a bug?

Digital Static / Fuzz / Noise with 8.0.4

I tried searching the forums, and I found quite a few similar posts, but it seemed to be pre 8.0.4? I can't figure out why this is happening.

Upgraded to Win7 and 8.0.4 not too long ago. Pro...

Re: Pro Tools working Sampler

Also, make sure you aren't used cracked or illegal copies of plugins. That it just asking for trouble (from both a stability and legal point of view).

Re: Sweetwater - good place to buy??

Just wanted to add a +1 for Sweetwater.

Kent (my contact) is great. They are my go-to-destination for most of my large purchases, and they've never refused a price-match for me.

Re: To all noobs

No way man. All I need is a U87, and I'll be making hit records.

I'll find a good singer later.

Re: Transpose or changing key for the whole song

You can definitely do this in Audio Suite. I just forget the exact option. Take a look there and give it a shot.

Just a note - I wouldn't recommend this for anything other than a demo. There...

Synth Bass Advice

Hey guys... quick question... wondering if you can help me out.

I'm looking to take a pre-recorded bass part, and give it a "synth" effect. Does anyone know of a good plug (or hardware) that I...

Re: How do I Export Separate Tracks?

I'm not in front of my DAW, but this is how I remember it:

1) Highlight the entire track Go to Edit>Consolidate
2) Take note of the newly named / conslidated region (e.g. Guitar_01.wav)
3) ...

Re: Cursor / Playback Issues

Thanks Albee. Yeah. I back-up my sessions to an external HD regularly. So, at least my data is protected.

But, I do agree that I am long overdue to start cloning my HD. Losing a system for...

Re: Drum Instruments..Affordable options?

+3 on EZ Drummer. I love it, and I use it all the time. Every now and then you can find it on sale. I got mine for $99 a year or two ago.

Btw, FWIW, I also love Superior Drummer 2.0. I...

Re: Auto tune

AutoTune EFX is $99. Not a robust as EVO, but it'll get you started.

Better yet, Melodyne Plug-in has a loyalty upgrade for $169 from the free version that you got w/ Pro Tools. Plus, you'll...

Re: Drum Miking uestion

I would not duplicate them like that, unless you're going for a very specific effect. It probably won't sound natural.

My suggestion, and it is hard to say without listening, is to pan your room...

Re: Record level and playback level

Just lower the level of the backing tracks. :)

If you have a lot of tracks and you don't want to mess with the "mix," then group them all and lower them together.

The voice is such a dynamic...

Re: Shane bails

Last night, I dug up one of Shane's posts from 2005 to find a shortcut that seriously helped save me two hours of work.

This sucks.

Re: Anyone have any ideas about this?

If you are running Pro Tools 8, then you are most likely using the new Dverb for your benchmarking. My Dual Core gets about 70 new Dverbs too. It's a solid system, and you can do a lot with that...

Tom is right.

For guitar, I would use amplitube 2 LE or eleven free as an insert on the guitar track. Both have very limited options (compared to the full versions), but should be more than...

Re: Auto Tune - Help?

+1 for Melodyne. Love it.

The upgrade path from the free version that comes with Pro Tools is very reasonable. I paid about $150 to upgrade straight to the plug-in.
