Re: Download manager providing unusable .DMG

I recently wanted to try the Avid Media Composer demo. Downloaded it overnight (big file for DSL). When I tried to open the DMG, I received an error message and was unable to open it.

Re: CD burning software

Well it sounds like you don't. So your comment is not based on experience. As much as you want to have levels well set, a slight change in order can require that one or more tracks be slightly...

Re: MBOX 3 PRO + Avalon Pre!

Wrong. On cheap electronics (including the low end of Avid) there is only one input chain. The line input still passes through the preamp, but is padded to line level.

You are all over the map here.

Again, the stuff your school bought still works? Does it provide you with 18 I/O? Do you think the schools would have been better of with 2 I/O from crappy...

Re: iLok????????????????

True for some plug-ins, but in some situations you will find that certain plug-ins request authorization mid session.

Re: iLok????????????????

Not true. The iLok shape does not take up 2 spaces so long as you place it in the right position. I have two hardware hubs and neither suffers from the issue you mentioned.

Sorry, forgot to mention that I have the Rosetta 800. A/D and D/A. But your points are well taken.

Re: The most important Black Lion Audio thread there is...

This thread is about bupkis. Why would anyone who had any of the converters you mentioned, have a BLA enhanced 002? If there is one person in this universe that has both (other than the BLA guys)...

Re: No Movie Present- H.264 Mp4 23.97 Frame Rate

QuickTime Pro should be able to output a DV movie that PT recognizes. There are a bunch of settings that you need to get right, but I'm not able to check that now.

I will try and look at it...

Ah, the bitter taste of defeat.

Stop lashing out and fire up your copy of Cubase. Maybe you'll also gain some savings on your mobile plan.

Re: audio/video project

Are you talking about the recording process? To be honest, you shouldn't really need hard sync between the camera and Pro Tools for a single song unless something is really off. You could do a quick...

Re: audio/video project

OK, you need to decide how many cameras. The more cameras, the more interesting the visuals, but the more complex the process.

But if you are really looking to do this on the cheap, it is...
