Re: 8.0.3 - It must be Christmas!

I've already found the new Mac and I'm ready to pull the trigger.
I'm waiting for an upgrade price from Avid. If it doesn't come I'm going to keep using what I have for the next year or buy...

Re: 8.0.3 - It must be Christmas!

I have edited my posts more than once to leave out these strong sentiments.
I actually used the word "insulted" as you have but at the last moment thought I was being a bit over the top and perhaps...

Re: 8.0.3 - It must be Christmas!

I'm with you Kenny. I just had my most productive year with my Accel 2 cards inside my G5 Dual 2.7.
I actually don't have any issues with the 8 software either.

If Avid offer a fair upgrade path...

Re: Ok, Avid. No more PPC support. BUT WHY NO REASONABLE UPGRADE PATH???

The PCIe card will give us Accel users absolutely no more power than what we have. It's the same card with a different connection.

Hence our anger at being held to ransom with criminal upgrade...

Re: Ok, Avid. No more PPC support. BUT WHY NO REASONABLE UPGRADE PATH???

Not sure what you mean. If we sell our cards then what do we put inside the Magma?

That Magma alone will cost me $4000 in Australia.
And I still have old cards AND I'm at the whim of...

Re: Ok, Avid. No more PPC support. BUT WHY NO REASONABLE UPGRADE PATH???

I just had a rant about this on the other thread.
Give us an upgrade path that doesn't rip the wallet from our pocket ......like the current one does.............and a lot of us PPC users will...

Re: I just hate the new pro tools here is why:

Double click on a midi region and you will see that the editor does indeed float.
You can use it both ways.

Re: 8.0.3 - It must be Christmas!

I'm a Digi fanboy. My now outdated system will work perfectly well for the next 10 years and beyond.
But that means I won't be buying anything from Digidesign.

Digidesign could solve a lot of our...

Re: Melodyne is crashing PT HD 8.0.1

I'm on a PPC with 8.0.1 and Melodyne still does the "play after hit stop" routine for me and ALWAYS has.
On my combination they have never been able to fix this. It's years now with this bug.
One...

Re: THe ultimate solution for that dry in the face sound

Sounds best if you take the mike out and put your head completely inside the booth. Also looks cool.
You can then put the mike outside somewhere and you're ready to go.
Nice warm tone.:D

Re: The facts (!) regarding new mysterious Digi HW?

Yes I think that's true and furthermore there may be more than one thing coming. So there will be two "something like that's".
So does anyone know anything about the other thing and which one of the...

Re: I just love the new pro tools here is why:

Never been more stable and reliable. Never been more fun.
I forget about the software and only think about making music.

That doesn't mean I'm not interested in new stuff from Digi!
Bring it on:D

PSP Nitro has been useful for me. It's not Soundtoys but it has merit.

It's also worth listening to their multi delay plug PSP608

Does this crash PT8.01 cs1 for you?

Just had this crash or "freeze" twice and it's re-produceable for me.
Open the midi track offset window and type in an offset.
My computer now freezes.
That is ..........I can see that my computer...

Well obviously I can't reveal certain techniques..........you understand.

Let me say just one thing..........Vic 20.
I mean if you want to talk about floating points.

I fear I've said to much.

Re: Why

These days I only buy music that has been recorded with 32 bit floating.......or partially submerged............point RTAS plugs.
I like a fluid tone.....and I know what I like.

Re: drag and drop from desktop conforms to session tempo

Chris, what Scott said, turn off the little green metronome at the top of the work space.
