It´s the opposite. It sets the PCI priority, which is the priority between the different parts in the system. so it´s 0 (low priority) 255 (very high priority)

What you should do is the the ones...

What i´ve noted is that you say the M-audio PCI ver works better.
It looks like the hardware priority of your systems isn´t in balance.
I´ve have alot of machines that i´ve gained HUGE Firewire...
