Well, so far, I got 3 people to go for the Midas and all 3 are quite happy:D I connected mine via lightpipe for a year and then moved it to analog inputs on a 192. Can't say I heard any audible...

A/B testing is a great idea. I spent an entire day trying every mic I owned on every drum, then tried several preamps on various drums. The Midas beat my Vintechs, and I was able to sell some mics...

Having owned both the 002 and 003, I rate the 003 as better than the 002, but still "plain vanilla". Clean enough but...
