I did a little nosing around and found a Yamaha home stereo subwoofer that people claim to like with NS10's ($99 at Amazon) so we'll see how...

Rode NTK Apex 460 Tubes

I have both mics and was wondering if the tubes are interchangeable.

The NTK takes a 6922 and the Apex uses a 12ax7. Can i try my Rode tube in the 460?

If not, what might you guys reccomend as...

One more little update:

I used a volt-ohm meter to test the voltage on the wires to my monitors and both were the same (possibly ironically, putting the red lead to the red wire gave me negative...

I've used 300 hz and 3000 hz tones and i think i hear pretty clearly that my speakers are in phase when wired the way they should be wired (red to red, black to black).

Well it started with a mix at a friend's studio (also NS-10's but differnt everything else) which at my house the vocal sounded much lower. And he said, maybe your monitors are out of phase. So...

They're (NS-10's) wired correctly but still i suspect they're out of phase. So i switched the polarity of one monitor and there's a noticeable difference. But now i've lost my mind and can't tell...

I was right, they were stupid questions: before 5.1 there was no such thing as pc/mac compatibility so of course that wouldn't be an option saving as a 5.0 session, but i didn't know 5.1...
