Re: Unsupported audio buffer size in device control panel

The Tascam US-800 does work with P9 in Windows- somewhat.

I am running Windows 7 and PT 9 on a Toshiba machine. I had to use the ASIO4ALL driver. I had to play with the buffer size in the US800...

Re: using a Tascam US-1641 Audio interface with PT 9

I had the same issue when I first used the US-1641 with PT 9 on Windows 7. Don't know if it's the same or similar with the Mac. Here is how I got it to work for me.

1. Download and install latest...

Re: Tascam US 1641

You also have to chose high latency in the Tascam setup utility otherwise PT whines and won't let you in. If you forget, just go to the utility box and set, but you have to restart PT. Good luck.

Re: Tascam US 1641

Have been using it for about 5 months now on and off with PT 9. No issues. You will have to download the ASIO4ALL driver and map the I/O. I have eight channels going, but you can do up to 16. Plus...

Re: How much Processing Power for PT 9?

No go with PT9 on the eeePC - at least not for playback. Lots of skipping and dropouts, and freezing in playback. No buffer adjustments worked. I didn't try recording, because playback is really what...

Re: PT9 ilok consideration

That's good. At least I can work with PT8 if I have problems with 9. Other posts here suggested that you somehow surendered your license crossgrading from PT8to 9, but I might have misunderstood. I...

Re: PT9 ilok consideration

While we are bickering and the Avid guys are smiling at their profits, I have a couple of relevant questions.

I have PT8 installed on one laptop with the Mbox 2 HW license. I just bought the PT9...

Re: How much Processing Power for PT 9?

It's an Asus EeePC 1000HAB. It has a Seagate 5400rpm drive and 2Gigs of RAM. Been using it for about four months now for mostly single-track recording and multi-track mixing with PT8 on XP Home...

Re: How much Processing Power for PT 9?

Hmmm. I'm not sure about this generalization. I’m currently running PT 8 on a netbook without any issues. Of course my recordings are simple – dual mics on an Mbox 2 mini. My mixes are also simple...

Re: Sony Vaio VPCF12S1E/B

I'm curious why you have a dual boot instead of just having two HW profiles with the drivers disabled. Is it because you are running two different versions of PT? I didn't know you could do a dual...

5400/7200RPM Hard Drive Clarification

Does it matter (greatly) if I use a 5400RPM internal drive if my external drive that I'm recording to is 7000RPM? I have seen various posts, but it not clear.

Currently, I'm using a 5400RPM...

iLok Over USB Hub - Potential Issue?

Does anyone here use the iLok key through a USB hub? I have three available USB ports on my machine. If I use my Mbox2 min on one port, the iLok on the second, and my HDD on the second, then I won’t...

Re: PT9 Downgrade Back to PT8 LE

Thanks for all the feedback.

I know that the PT 8 LE key is embedded in the HW, but wasn't sure how strict Avid is about multiple installs/uninstalls. In the past, I have used these "Nazi"...

PT9 Downgrade Back to PT8 LE
