2022.5 is still slow to import here. Interestingly enough, when I import via menu, PT is reporting them as 32 bit files. Could be part of the problem?

OK so I am onto a trend here: Pro Tools sees a lot of these mp3's as 32-bit. These files take a very long time to convert. If Pro Tools sees the mp3 as 16 bit, its fast.

Weird. I can get it to work both ways, just SUPER SLOWLY.

Thanks for confirming I am not crazy. I have barely anything installed not his machine so I have no idea what the conflict is. Others on the same OS, same M1 MAX and same version of PT do not have...

Brand new MacBook Pro 16", latest Monterey. Nothing installed but Pro Tools on this machine.

Mp3 imports are mind bogglingly slow. I sent the same files for others to import on their pro tools...
