It is entirely possible that some of the metadata may be tripping up Pro Tools yes.

One thing to check is that Elastic Audio isn't getting enabled on the tracks that these loops are being added...

What if you have 10 inserts on that Aux channel? Would you want it to open all 10 inserts when you click on the send?

I guess it’s an interesting idea in theory, but I’m not too sure practically...

But as I mentioned in my first post, you can do that now via drag and drop from Finder in macOS. Again, I'd be surprised if this wasn't the case in Windows using the Explorer window.

Can you not simply drag and drop from an Explorer window directly onto the PT timeline or clip list? You’ve always been able to on macOS so I’d be surprised if you can’t in Windows.

I think you’ve totally misunderstood his issue.

He wants the plugins to be in AAX format so that he can use them in PT. He’s not implying that the VST format is bad.

Your Mac Pro compatibility isn’t the issue. It’s a USB interface.

You need to concern yourself with driver support. Make sure the interface has drivers for the macOS version you’re running.

weird midi editor behavior in 2022.4/groove cell not well implemented

The user you quoted has a problem with drag and drop from the Finder/Explorer OS window and Groove Cell. Not sure why it’s not working as it’s touted as a feature.

I don’t have time to install and play with the plugin, but that can’t possibly be right. No one can be THAT daft.

It supports drag and drop so as a workaround, you could just audition the sample...
