Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 and PT is a no go - tons of errors

I had high hopes that the 2nd Gen Focusrite Scarlett 6i6 would be a great portable interface for me.
But for the last two days I have had nothing but problems with it on two different MacBook Pros,...

Can someone on Mac with the 003 mixer please do a test for me?

The newest 003 drivers (which also work for the 002 though 002s will forever remain unsupported) MIGHT have completely eliminated the CPU spike that has existed in every version of the 002/003 driver...

Re: Can anyone advise where I can find the Yosemite installer?

If you never installed it when it was the latest OS available from Apple, then you can't download it from the App store anymore.
You probably need someone who has access to a Yosemite installer to...

Re: macOS Sierra official release date is Sept. 20. How long til Pro Tools is compati

I've seen OS X installers that once worked perfectly do something similar just after having it sit on a hard drive and not use it for months (I know how weird that sounds.)
Then I just deleted it,...

Re: Shifting playlists

Oh you were already in playlist view and it was crashing doing that?
Your signature above said PT 12.5.0
Did you try on 12.5.2?
If so and it's still broken there, this sounds like a bug.
Does it...

Re: Shifting playlists

Put the track in question into playlist view mode so you can grab and nudge them all at once.

Re: PT10/PT12 conflict issue?

Not supported just means they just don't have the resources to test it anymore since there are 3 more modern OS X versions that need the focus. I've used it and it works just fine on Mountain Lion....

Re: PT10/PT12 conflict issue?

I recommend 100% uninstalling all traces of PT 10 and 12 not only using the uninstallers, but then sifting through all known locations for prefs, plugins, leftovers in the main System, Library, and...

Re: PT12.5 Does NOT fix GUI Lagging as it proclaims

Not upgrading to YOSEMITE? or El Cap? Your signature says El Cap.

Re: Anybody using PT12 on 2011-2012 IMAC?

Though it is not at all my main machine, I have a mid 2010 iMac 21.5" i3 (yes, you read that right - i3) dual processor with an SSD boot drive and 16 GB of RAM that runs the latest version of PT 12...

Re: Are OSX partitions of internal drive truly independent?

Partitioning a MBPro's internal SSD/Flash drive is a great way to test different OS X and/or PT versions. Yes there is true separation but, as someone mentioned, you can look at the files on all...

Re: Logitech mouse response "absolutely terrible" in OS X?

To the original poster of this thread, you are absolutely right that this is a Logitech driver bug. I experience this as well. Shift+scrolling for horizontal scrolling was absolutely fine in OS X...

Confused if Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL problems have been fixed with certain macs?

I was possibly going to order a new Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL to use with my late 2012 iMac 27 and mid 2014 MacBook Pro 15.

It seems that there was a problem with this unit and some mac models but...

Re: Digi 002 Kernel Task Issue

Right. Using PT is not necessary to see the spike in CPU activity which causes fans to kick into jet-engine overdrive on almost all Macs I've seen. All that is necessary is to use this driver with...

Re: Digi 002 Kernel Task Issue

I just tried this. For me it is only called Avid 003 Family.plugin. However this did NOT work.
Same enormous kernel task in activity monitor as always when using the 002 as the playback engine in...

Re: Digi 002 Kernel Task Issue

This is extremely interesting!!!
Simon, are you saying that you tried this but you're still getting CPU spikes?
You say you think you tried this -- but you're not sure if you did??

Also, for...

Re: 003 with PT 12?

The v11 versions (all of them -- including most current which is 11.1.3) of the 003 driver cause a HUGE increase in CPU usage that, for me, makes all of my Macs' fans blow like jet engines.
An...

Re: Revised Pricing for CPTK to PT HD Upgrades

Understandably disappointed as you may be, you certainly would have no legitimate basis for any kind of lawsuit.
I do recommend you upgrade to the PT 11 HD license, though, if you want to maintain...

Re: Who has an 003 mixer and can test something on OS X?

Marcel, and if you click at the top of the "% CPU" column so that the highest usage sorts at the top, you'd see that kernel task show up too.
I once found an older Mac Pro that didn't kick up its...

Re: Who has an 003 mixer and can test something on OS X?

Hey Deng. See that kernel task in your screenshot that's at 82.9%? If you set your playback engine to the internal sound card and turn off the 003, you'll see it drop DRAMATICALLY.
Very glad to hear...

Re: Who has an 003 mixer and can test something on OS X?

The guy I was going to buy the 003 system from was kind enough to do the test for me without me coming over.
He, too, confirmed that using the v11.1.3 driver, the 003 causes a huge CPU spike (that...

Re: Who has an 003 mixer and can test something on OS X?

Marcel, I'm so glad you replied and thank you so much.
That is what I was afraid of! And this is quite different than the other responses in this thread.
I might need to re-think this purchase...
