Most screens nowadays have more than one input and often HDMI, Displayport, minidisplayport and so on, and buttons and menus to select between sources.

I have two displays; one large TV and a 32"...

Have you considered staying with 10.8.5/10.3.8, just for PT, and getting a new current mac for everything non-PT? perhaps a M1 and stay up to date for years to come? They could even share screens....
