Thanks for the feedback. I feel stupid for connecting them in series. Anyway, I reconfigured to have the drive connected directly to the computer and it crashed all the same.

Thanks. I can try that. However, I did not have a problem recording to the system drive on the old laptop. Hopefully this will solve it.

I do have a MaxtorOneTouch 4Plus hard drive but I haven't set it up until I get the basic Protools and Digi Rack to function properly. Even if I start a fresh session with one track, it won't record.

Sorry for the typo. It's a D630. It has 2GB of RAM. It has a T7500 processor (2.2GHz). It's much newer than the D400 I've been successfully running my Digirack on.
