Re: Sonnet Echo 3 Chasis not Recognized my Mac Studio/PT

Thanks for the update Mark. I have HD native as well, and have been biting my nails about this issue. I hope a fix can be coded.

Re: A Question For M1 Users

All Macs for the last several years HAVE only come with SSD. Some of us that've been around awhile just default to the same old terms for everything.

Technically, now the Apple Silicon...

Re: What features would you like to see in a plugin-manager?

Hey, making custom lists would be a big one.

I know how I use plugins, and I really don't need to be stuck with how manufacturers categorize them in Avid's narrow categories.

For starters,...

Re: Import Midi File first and then audio tracks or vice versa?

Whenever I do this, I ALWAYS import the MIDI first. For me, it's most important to get the markers, tempo changes, meter changes, etc in the correct positions, and then import the audio files to...

Re: Why does COMMIT track consolidate regions even when CONSOLIDATE is off?

I think what was meant is that a lot of these “analog modeled” plugins have modeled “analog noise” as a feature. In Plugin Alliance, it’s usually called V-Gain. In Waves it’s “Analog” (or a few...

Re: Pro Tools 2022.4 beach freeze occurs constantly

I think the last really major overhaul of the MIDI workflow was when they made it usable in PT 8. (2008?) Maybe some tweaks when they intro'd Instrument Tracks (which are really just a MIDI Track and...

Re: Workspace - monitor through plugins

I do this. I have Output 1&2 “clean” for bounces, and I monitor everything out of Outputs 3&4, which has the SoundID plugin on it. (I route everything to an Aux that I use as my “actual” Master...

Re: Pro Tools 2022.4 on Mac Studio M1 Ultra

I don’t know if Activity Monitor would reveal it. More like how much is audio vs. VIs, what are the session audio settings (sample rate, bit depth, channel format), what plugins, how much elastic...

Re: Frequent crashes when working in the MIDI Editor window

I’ve seen this before. I run a template with hundreds of deactivated INSTRUMENT tracks. But when I start having a lot of “live” ones, it starts having problems and crashes if I’m trying to do too...

Re: Really ?

Logic - they have the inside track, being owned by Apple.

Cubase - since they've had Cubasis on iOS for a few years, they probably had a leg up with working in ARM, porting the basic functionality...

Re: CPU Temps and Intel Turbo Boost

I have the same MBP. It does suck in that respect. I can only use it with closed-ear headphones and no need to mic anything live. Probably going to trade in for an M1 MBP this summer to deal with...

Re: Pro Tools 2022.4 Release

Agreed. I also prefer to type on a website. Apps are a nuisance for that, and having the app on my computer as well just creates a perpetual simmering of discontent.

So just also make the...

Re: Why Not A Pro Tools 2022 Forum ?

That usually takes a couple of days to emerge. I'm sure once it does, the relevant threads will be moved to the new sub-forum.

Re: Jeffro must be the hardest working poster here.

100% agreed. Thanks Jeffro for working overtime on this. Clearly the new tier-system is aimed at new customers, and you're stuck assuaging us (generally) existing, grumpy customers. ;)

Re: Changing Vi Multiout via Track presets

If I am understanding the question that you're asking correctly...

You have Auxes set up that are receiving signal from your different SD3 outputs (3/4, 5/6, etc) that give you your "Kick",...

Re: Pro Tools 2022.4 Release

While I'm very glad to see some movement on new releases, bug fixes and a little bit of feature improvements, the rollout definitely slaps of a fail on the marketing (and hence product categories)...

This is great. Could you tweak your post, and make it a standalone Sticky at the top of some of the sub-forums? Seems like an important thing for the community to know and recognize.

Re: M1/Monterey: Do all interfaces require 'Allow user management of kernel extension

It's due to an Apple security feature. You (and they) wouldn't want malware taking control of your microphone or camera and recording you, and Apple treats Audio IO in the same class as microphones,...

Re: Delay Compensation Limit woes

Hmmm. It’s true. When I open my 15-year old sessions, there’s a lot less latency and ADC on them, due to the tools available at the time. They still sound good, but they definitely use a more...

Re: Delay Compensation Limit woes

Yeah, I do that as well, but I'd love if there was an All-Inserts-On-Selected-Track variation. You can Bypass them all, but that won't eliminate the Latency/DelayComp. And if you add Option, it...
