I believe if you highlight all of the regions you want to snap to the grid and use the "quantize regions" function, you'll be good to go. There is an upgrade for LE (non-OSX), I think it's v5.2.1,...

Pro Tools 6.0 for OSX

Right now, the only thing holding me back from switching to OSX is Pro Tools. I am happy to see that Digi is releasing v6.0, but once again, no Beat Detective in non-TDM versions??? Are you kidding...

I was having firewire problems, too. The remedy for me was to disable the "Firewire Authoring Support" extension in the extension manager. Apparently, this conflicts with many programs and firewire...

I think that the biggest feature of Beat Detective, aside from the way it automatically seperates regions at each sound, is the fact that it will make the regions "stick" to the grid if you choose to...
