Vacuum Pro is not ARM/Silicon compatible - probably never will be. I loved that synth though. It will be missed.

Run Pro Tools under Rosetta and those old plugs...

Yes. Fun times. I've used more blades and blue tape than many, but mostly it was half-speed punch/bouncing with the Studer and a notesheet.

Editing and comping vocal takes while recording is an essential skill. Ten (or even five) years ago no one worked this way - hence the confusing advice you're getting here.

Pro Tools sounds better with an older computer. Slower CPU speeds align with the sample rate better. :)

You could try Object Grabber Mode for the process, but the only reliable way I've found to Normalize hundreds of files is to process stereo clips individually with the help of a key/mouse automator...

For item 3, simply use Edit Tool Keyboard Lock under the Options menu. That's what it's for. Set it to whatever tool you want to use, then lock it.

The G-Console plugin was particularly bad on BigSur with my older computer (3.46 Mac 5,1 with open Core and RX580). Some of the others were indeed fine. All good now with a Mac Studio and Monterey. ...

Plugin Alliance had problems with graphics on Big Sur (everyone did). They wrote and confirmed they were aware and working on it. I upgraded to a new computer and didn't pursue it.

Same here. Normally it's PA for the win, but not in Pro Tools with Big Sur. It is indeed unusable and slow. Hat is off to Dirk after the flood. Thanks to them for rebuilding. Eagerly awaiting updates...
