Also, it would be groovy to use the ipad as "sampler" or playback of background...

FWIW - I've been using a Pod HD as a controller. Works great, lot's of options. Wah (w/ toe switch) when off, pedal can be volume or multi-controller. Tap tempo works. Pedal board or 1/2 pedal board...

I'm actually gonna use both. HD500 as a foot controller for the 11R and maybe two more amps (duo tone style) and pan hard left right. mmmmm big sound!!!
