Re: Crazy no pan

The interface I'm using is the Scarlett 18i20 gen. 1 w/software control. Evidently it's not pro tools at all since my pan works fine on the MBP, when the screen controller pans, so does the audio....

Re: Crazy no pan

I just created another session with one mono channel and a mono signal input. Recorded a minute. Upon playback, screen controller pans, audio does not. So it's not just this session.

To rule out...

Re: Crazy no pan

Attached are snapshots- hope they work.

It is a stereo master and there are no mono inserts.

All bussing for all channels is stereo with the final mon.1 out, mon.2 out.

Re: Crazy no pan

On my way to this tonight.

To answer, the controllers on the mix screen show pan, but the audio does not pan.

Re: Crazy no pan

I have established that the 18i20 is not the problem. I’m using 8 ch. adat (drums) from my Soundcraft 328D, using direct outs for overheads, and two of the 8 pre inputs for an IPad input for...

Re: Crazy no pan

You know it just may be a mono master. I’m not there right now but this could be it. Some things just slip your mind when things are set up and then you just count on them being right without...

Crazy no pan

I've got a problem that has me stumped. I have a session where i can't pan mono channels. The on-screen dials move but sound does not pan. They're not assigned to a bus or a submaster but to main out...

Bounce adds 60 sec to mix

This is a new one for me. All bounced mixes are 60 sec longer than the file. Just silent for a minute. There is no recorded material hidden beyond the end of the recorded file. For years the bounce...

Re: Using a plugin to analyze monitors

I ended up using an app called REW, it has a sine sweep generator that I set for at least three sweeps and it averages them. I do one for the 8” monitor and another for the sub. Then you can layer...

Re: Delete automation trials and tribulations-update

I have no groups that contain that track.

Don't use VCAs, but would like to know where to look for that. Where to look to see where it may be tied to another track? It is routed to a submaster aux...

Delete automation trials and tribulations

I’m not real experienced with midi at this point but maybe things are different for midi tracks than audio tracks.

I have a midi/instrument track that has some kind of automation on it that I did...

Re: Using a plugin to analyze monitors

Thanks, Darryl. I imagine that plug wasn’t really designed for this. I do use the meter function tho.

Yes, I just want to make the system itself balance. I use an old Rane analog crossover and a...

Using a plugin to analyze monitors

I guess this is a routing question. I have Waves PAZ analyzer plug-in and I would like to use it to adjust my monitoring system. (Reasonably flatten speakers).

So, here’s how I’d start- play pink...

Re: How to move a selection in the midi edit window

Solved. Just learned that the editor follows the track view and needs to be in clips view to move or edit clips. I’ll be damned. I have not used any midi. All my recording since PT 7 has been...

How to move a selection in the midi edit window

I’ve been working on edits in the midi edit window but for the life of me can’t figure out how to move a selection forward or backward. Evidently, the tools don’t work the same in the midi edit...

Re: Undo midi quantize

Thanks Darryl.

I have not used revert to saved in the past. Cool operation. Glad it has no shortcut, I’d be the one to accidentally trip it. I effectively reverted to save by closing the session...

Undo midi quantize

I was experimenting with quantize, since I haven't used it. I selected 16 measures from the beginning of the midi keyboard track I recorded. I enabled the real-time properties and got the window...

Re: No grid and adding to beginning of session

Thanks for the suggestion that may work. I’ll try.

The grid button that you reference did nothing until I restarted the computer and reopened the session. Now it works. Thanks.

Things happen...

Re: No grid and adding to beginning of session

Thanks for the reply BScout. Clicking on the grid button in that window gets me the dialog box for the grid options, but does not show the grid. I don’t care about the grid showing anymore, since my...

No grid and adding to beginning of session

Two issues.

1. I can't get the grid to show in this session. As the screenshot shows, there is a white grid button in the box in the top right corner of the edit window, but clicking on it only...

I rose this morning to try addressing this situation. When I booted the MBP I was greeted by the screen in the first attachment. I have not seen this screen in the past, so progress?

I brought up...

I am now working through the steps that Audiolex1 provided.

1. I uninstalled the Control app on my IPad

2. Goto AVID.com and sign in. ON your MBP.
