But digidesign have stated thats its the usb port closest to the power adapter is the one thats qualified!not the one on the right!

Again best to get rid of all your plugins etc and try everything suggested in the digidesign trouble shooting. Just to let you know that none of those things cured my problems and it seems like it...

Yeah you should be sure that you have tried everything before buying a new mbox and if possible borrow one first to try?could be that you are using the wrong usb port. In my case none of these things...

I had a similar problem with a macbook pro 2.4ghz and an original mbox. I sorted it by buying an mbox 2!seems like the original mbox doesnt really like working with intel macs!I had tried everything...

Well i went for the 2.4ghz 15.4in non glossy screen a few months ago, with the 7200rpm internal so its possible to record audio to that if need be. Ruled out the 2.2 just because I wanted best spec...

I put 4gig in my 2.4 macbook pro...can never have too much and its well cheap at crucial.

I dont think reason would effect the performance of your computer to be honest?Other than the fact that you have two programs running. Its not as though reason streams massively multi sampled samples...

Yes reason needs to be rewired to be used in pro tools.
As for the monitoring.....tough to say without knowing more?Do you have the playback(direct monitoring knob)turned all the way up?

I use a carillon audio drive 7200rpm.Firewire 400/800 and usb 2.0.
It has a seagate drive in it,have been using it for a few years now and not had any issues!

Im with melodyne too!
Seems to sound far more natural than antares...ie you dont get the cher sound unless you really want it!I use melodyne uno and think its great!
