Looks like you like what I posted about mine David.
I am loving the 980x. I mean this thing is screaming fast. And I have cut my CPU usage on big sessions more that half.

I don't game or anything this is strictly a studio machine.

Ok I am up and running. Like a Champ.

Upgraded from an i7 950 to the i7 980X got for around $300.
Add another 12GB Ram for a total of 24 GB. $129
And installed the Corsair H105 Water Cooler....

Trying to get a year or two more out of my first gen i7 board. Ex58a-ud3r. I just got a great deal on an i7 980x. The 6 core extreme edition. I am adding another 12 GB of RAM to bring it up to 24...

Yea you can overclock these pretty well I am finding out.
I think this will get me through next year and then once the prices have come down on the newest stuff I will make a new build.

I have been looking at the HP Z800 X 5650 on EBay. They are averaging between 7 and 8 hundred.
Two physical 6 core Xeon processors 12 physical cores. The ones I have seen come with 12 GB RAM.

I have heard this to be true for SSD's though.

In addition D you also have properly installed RAM setup. You will also see an overall performance increase of your system that was not there.
