ok! that makes sense. i upgraded to 8.0.4 on my older PC just before building the new one. didn't have time to notice.

cheers, but i can't say it's all sorted yet.

CPUID harware monitor shows incredible voltages on the +12V and -5V rails : +12v= +5V , and -5V= -1V ... while the bios shows normal voltages.

that's weird, the noise is barely audible now. i'm not exactly sure but i suspect it went away when i changed the graphic card driver ( ? ).

I just build a new computer and i'm having troubles configuring its drives to "AHCI".
i got to say i don't really understand this AHCI concept, but i read in this thread that i would have better...
