Re: Firmware for 002r

I did an upgrade a few years ago (probably from 6.11 to 6.4, I think). Pro Tools did indeed want to download a firmware update from the internet. It wasn't included with the upgrade CD. My recording...

Re: Power harness problem!!! 002r

Just from lurking DUC, it appears the frequency of the problem is declining (considering how many 002's are being sold).

I replaced my power harness in early 2004 and haven't had a problem since....

Re: Is this the \"power harness\" problem?

My 002r had the power harness problem. In my case, the unit wouldn't power up. When you start it, you can hear these little ticking noises (3 of them I think). My would just keep ticking. Eventually,...

Re: DAE /PLAYBACK ISSUE -unsatisfied customer! HE

Usually, *internal* hard drives are IDE, EIDE, SCSI, etc. -- but not Firewire.

Protools (as well as most other recording software I've used) works better and faster if you have a dedicated drive...

No Clicks ... 002Rack Dead?

I was playing back something. Suddenly got the "cannot find hardware." Look at rack. no lights illuminated.

I've rebooted many, many times.

When I used to turn on the 002R I'd hear 3 or 4...

Re: Anyone using Taxi?

I was just about to post something about that.

I got an email this morning from justplainfolks.com, saying my band was nominated for two awards. They are tied/affiliated/allied in someway to TAXI....

Re: how to spend this ca$h

AT3035. US$199.00. (Not sure about the exchange rate).

I've used it for vocals, acoustic guitar, drum. Very good results.

Re: OT: Pranks you pull on people in the studio!

My favorite.

Record the lead vocals. Act like you don't know how to respond the the lead vocalist's last take. Meanwhile, you're pitch-correcting the vocal track you just recorded down 25 cents.

Re: wireless keyboard problem?

I've had a similar problem (using a wired keyboard) once my track count starts getting high. Seems like the keyboard buffer is getting choked up. I've witnessed something like that on a TDM system.

Re: Critical Processes for PTLE?

Well, it looks like that did the trick. Won't know for sure until we start tracking tomorrow, but I bounced a few songs and got no underruns.

Thanks, folks.

Stu.

Re: Critical Processes for PTLE?

That might be it. I'll check it when I get home, but I'm pretty sure I installed service pack 2.

No blue screens though. Just a boatload of underruns.

I'll try uninstalling it.

Thanks,

Re: Critical Processes for PTLE?

The problem is, before I upgraded to PTLE 6.4 (and did the windows update), I had NO buffer underruns. Literally ZERO.

Now, with a single track, I get 'em.

I'm running a P4 2gHz. 768mb memory....

Critical Processes for PTLE?

Does anyone know of a place where I can find out what processes are essential for ProTools to run?

The computer I'm using for PT is used for NOTHING else, so I'd like to streamline it.

Ever...

Re: Digi 002 Rack Playback Static/Distortion

I'm recording dry as a bone (no plugins -- except the "click" plugin on an aux channel).

I have not tried adjusting the buffer size. I'll try that tomorrow.

I should mention that I was...

Re: Digi 002 Rack Playback Static/Distortion

The cables going from the monitor outs to my powered monitors are shielded. I tried moving the 002Rack farther away from the computer (about 3.5 feet away) -- no change.

(By "frontend" you mean...

Digi 002 Rack Playback Static/Distortion

I sort of posted this, but I buried it in another thread, and I left out some information:

I'm using a Digi 002 Rack with PTLE v. 6.1.1. Running on XP 2.4gHz, 768mb. Using a "Known Compatible"...

Re: Computer noise (line not through mic) in 002 pres

Do you have an external drive?

I've got an external firewire drive, and when it winds up (and down) it's sends wicked RF interference through the whole system (monitors and headphones).

Re: help, sound breaking up!

I'm having a very similar problem with my Digi 002 Rack. It'll work fine for a while, then I'll start to hear something like distortion. This distortion happens on the headphone output and the...
