Instead of deleting AVID Link, I stop the app before each of my Pro Tools sessions. I do use the AVID Link update installer, though.

Try moving ALL plug-ins to the unused plug-ins folder. Start Pro Tools. If it works, then you have some offending plug-ins to sort out.

Usually in a new PT install, the first time you open the Melodyne plug-in, it will direct you to sign in to your Melodyne account. Once there, you can activate the plug-in.

Smooth install, no issues whatsoever. PT Ultimate Perpetual, installed through AVID Link. Dell XPS 15 laptop, Windows 10. Although, I did hold my breath during HDX card firmware update.
