I'll give it a go...
ATC2 still looks good value as you can open talkback during playback/record with a midi trigger and it dims your master output.

I've just found something called sonobus which has an aax plugin and its free.
I've just totally fried my brain trying to work out how to route everything in pt and out again....

Is there an alternative to Source Nexus to route audio in and out of PT via a plug-in whilst using the HDX audio driver?
