I just use auto record punch-in. I'd rather program the in and out points than hit on the fly. I do not export any MIDI files into PT; too time consuming. I'd rather stay in one app (DP).

I'm using PT HD2 (dual 192s) with DP 3.1. No plug-in automation, no punch-in on the fly. I do miss some of my MAS plugs. Polar only works if you switch back to MAS using direct connect. DP cannot...
