You are no more an idiot than anyone else new to this.

Sounds like you need an external hard drive for your files
and you need usb 2.0 or a firewire to transfer the data
quickly to the ext HD...

In the PTLE program in the edit window, on the top tool bar, Have you changed the hardware setting to ADAT? The default is internal and you will get pops on internal.

kick, bass, drums and voice are featured.

At least that's the way I hear most of it.

Soft foam around mic head maybe 4 inch air gap, place foam against, or very close to head.

you can also edit bleeds by cutting and deleting on the track between hits (in edit mode).
