Re: major mistake

In the future, you SHOULD sync ALL THREE devices (lexicon, ADAT and PTLE) to the same clock. Use the best clock in the system. (Depending on what ADAT you have you might consider using it's clock.)...

Re: ok... new here, i got a no audio problem with my 001

**The pro tools audio doesn't come out of your 'system'. Your 'system' volume or soundcard has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Pro tools audio being heard. Your pro tools audio comes out of the 001...

Re: S/PDIF CABLE

Plug the 16 ohm output of your bass/guitar head into the 4 ohm input of your cab. It'll work, but not right. (please don't try this!!!!!!!)Matching impedance is REALLY important. Impedance means...

Re: Good Limiter/Compression Settings for Radio Commercials

Monitor your mixes through a radio summed to mono. Who cares if it's in stereo. If you are proud of your work (which i hope you are) make stereo mixes as well as mono mixes for yourself of resume. ...

Re: XP Pro Clean Install Questions-HELP NEEDED ASAP PLEASE

If you have one harddrive only, then make sure you backup everything. I backup everything to a format disc, which becomes very useful. On my format disc, I usually have things like free software...

Re: Opinions on best cymbals for recording.

First off, I have 11 years experience with drums, and about 7 years recording them. I started off with ****** drums, ****** mikes, the whole thing. Tried for years to make that sound the best I...

Re: Help with new set-up

Another option you might think of is an external clock, A/D converter, and good pre amp. With a good clock and converter you can reliably sync most gear with pro tools and get great sound. Add in a...

Re: Calling Out To THE PROS

As far as I know the fastest way is to make a new session, import tracks from the old session and then ctl shift A the audio list (to select them all) and REMOVE them from the session. DO NOT...

Re: old setup on XP

Did you make sure to uncheck the Read only attribute on all of your files? I think that read only files will open in sessions but probably give problems when you're trying to get playback.

Re: Mixing@85Db

85 db is that point where you can't hear your buddy talk to you from behind, and when he yells at you it's hard to FOCUS on what he's saying. It's also not loud enough to hurt your ears.

Re: Use ADAT as lightpipe interface??

ADATS have way better converters and a much better clock. Clocking off of an M20 and using it's line inputs with Lightpipe to the 001 sounds better to me than any TDM system (with the exeption of HD...

Re: What has been the coolest gig of your life so far?.....

When I was a senior in HS, my band played a Pantera Medley at the annual talent show. At the audition the judge (aka 'narc lady') caught some F words and wouldn't let us pass. Our music teacher...

Re: New convertor, how much better really?

The more stable the clock, the better. As the previous post said, with a couple tracks you probably won't notice a difference. With 16, definitely. With recording, all the little tiny things...

Re: Anyone using a TMD1000 to route gear?

Get a Tdif to Lightpipe converter. That way you can go digitally in between them. Along with the S-pdif, that's 10 channels digitally between the two. Then, use the mixer's bus outs to go to FX...

Re: My Grid Value "pop-up" menu is missing!

Re: reasons for a mixer with digi001

Get a small mackie for decent pre's and lots of in's and outs. Then get some outboard pre's and really think about using other converters with the lightpipe connection.
