Been using the hhb 850 for about 3 years
with no problems, works and sounds great.
I think fostex has an exact clone in white,
You might want to consider the 850plus, it
has a word clock input.....

A good clock source is the key, just pick
up a Ardvvark, Nanosync, Lucid, ect. Try
some of the Earthworks pre`s, really clean..
Even the Presonus VXP or M80 will give
you that transparency you...

max card and works flawless with the G4,
However i have only 4 drives installed..
Heat could build up and cause serious
problems if to many drives are...

I don`t know about the G3 ,but the G4 will
work with either system bus, card or both.
I have 2 45 IBMs on the promax card and a
20 WD slaved on the system bus..So far
doing around 40 trks with...

digital inputs(AES,S/PDIF) will benifit as
well. I`m very impressed with this unit..

I just wired in the NanoSync last nite, and
it kicks"ASS"! Sounds out of the 888`s are
cleaner, especially around the upper mids.
This unit is built solid, very Pro, and lots
inputs/outs...

RUSH`s 'Moving Pictures' works for me,
at least 90% of the album. Great all around
balance (drums,bass,gt&keys) not to mention

The whole point on dither is to mask
quantization noise from the reduction
of the bit depth, it`s not required,
just a recommendation...
