I'm currently running Pro Tools 8.0cs3 on Windows 7 64-bit. This biggest advantage of using 64-bit is that I can now have more RAM for hungry plugins.

My system is:

you should consider getting / using an (internal) ATA / SATA or (external) Firewire drive.

digidesign does not support the use of USB drives.

if you get a Firewire Drive, DO NOT chain it from...

avoid using USB drives for recording.

get a dedicated ATA or SATA drive (don't try to use the system drive).

also: do not try to get around this by partitioning the C drive to make another...

i would start with that first, remove one memory stick, and just run a pair of them.
