Just wondering if it's possible to buy the cheaper version (8/8/8) and then later upgrade to 16/16, the way we used to be able to buy an extra ad or da card for the 192 i/o?

kiさんの言うとおりシステムディスクをssdにする事をおすすめします。その場合マイナス点ゼロです。

Just a FYI.
I wrote about Asus P6R6 WS Revolution working with HD3 PCIe before, and I've just made another build with different parts for a HD2 PCIe build.

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R for my HD2 PCIe....

I think Jamaican's confused himself with the physical appearance of PCIe x1 slots and PCIe x8/x16 slots.
I haven't tested HD3 yet but the P6T6 works absolutely fine with HD2 PCIe.
See no reason why...

FYI, just ordered different parts for a new PC and the motherboard that's on its way is the ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution, with a 3.2 Ghz i7.
I haven't found any definitive post showing it works properly...
