thanks for all the help guys, i think for now i'm going to go with the Presonus Firepod and just record into Cubase for the drums and then export the wavs to protools for mixing for now and see how...

ok i got it working but can't drag the mix window to one of the monitors, i can get the whole pt window to go over but i'm trying to get the edit window in one and the mix in the other. thanks so far.

So if i wanted the 8 channels i could just run the 4 xlr outs and the 4 line outs to the 8 ins of the pre and go into pro tools like that? i want to still be able to use the 002 interface to control...

ok here's a more updated example:

last night i did all my guitar work for a song i had only 6 channels for guitar and amplitube on each (but with different effects) just that my cpu was at halfway...
