Re: Metronome/Countoff with Online Transport Issue

Yes tracking drums and overdubs to tape, I've resorted to just dealing with it.
I've never had this trouble before, normally I can turn click on and off as much as I want while sync'd. Why on earth...

Metronome/Countoff with Online Transport Issue

Hi all,
I'm having a problem I've not found before. When sync'd to tape, I can't turn ON the metronome without first taking Transport Offline, then turning on the Metronome then taking Transport...

Re: HD Native now on Digi website

It might also be worth noting, the Apogee Symphony I/O when spec'd with the 2 x 16 analogue I/O cards, ALSO gives you 16 digital I/O at the same time. It's not an either or situation.

Re: OT: Least sibilant microphone you know

Coles 4038 is the least sibilant mic I've ever used, but it's not right for all vocals.

Re: Okay--now I can talk

I did make a similar point in my post mentioning this that if you are earning thousands each month the price of a HD system relative to your earnings may not be that great. But I was trying to...

Re: Okay--now I can talk

I see what you mean about the Massive Pack, that does add some value. Not sure if I'm actually that convinced by the quality of the plugins within that package, but it adds some value.

Personally...

Re: Okay--now I can talk

I don't think anyone here has a problem with things being expensive, they have a problem with things NOT BEING WORTH the price that is charged for them.

If most people here OWN an HD rig or use...

Re: Okay--now I can talk

The argument of "HD is always more powerful because you have RTAS AND TDM" is just as ridiculous as the guy from Spinal Tap saying his amp is better as it goes up to 11.

YES it is an extra bit of...

Re: Side Chain Arriving Late to RTAS Plug - Delay Comp On

I've not tested this, but I would imagine from experiencing what I did in the session I was working on when noticing this. If you make a new session with 1 audio track and 2 instrument tracks, with a...

Re: Side Chain Arriving Late to RTAS Plug - Delay Comp On

Yeahhhh maybe they will. Or maybe their "Reply Delay Compensation" is faulty too?

Re: Side Chain Arriving Late to RTAS Plug - Delay Comp On

I came across this very problem recently. I was in the middle of a mix, so had plenty of plugins running, both RTAS and TDM, and no delay issues.

I then wanted to add a rhythmically gated synth...

Re: Can latest Logic still use any of my 192 inputs?

It can use 8 I/O using the Core Audio driver.

Which frankly is pathetic, but in your case enough, and definitely better than nothing.

Re: BF Pultec Bundle

I noticed this the other day with an EQP-1a, the RTAS version did not create ANY noise. I have no ida what was the cause but boosting any high frequency resulted in terrible sounding dithery noise...

Re: "Some regions had invalid bounds and were adjusted or deleted"

I was also getting this message the other day on 8.0.4 on latest Snow Leopard.
Never had a file ACTUALLY missing from the session, but got this message every time I opened one of the PT sessions. ...

Re: Pt hd1. We need more power!!!

I've never noticed a lot of difference in latency between having low latency mode on or off, mainly only if a mix is already underway and there are a lot of large latency plugins running, those will...

Re: Pt hd1. We need more power!!!

Like DSIM I've tracked bands, singers, guitarists, percussionists, etc, etc, a lot of which are absolutely at the top of their game, directly into to Logic using software monitoring and no one has...

Re: OT: Your Thoughts on Kick Drum Mics

One of the only things I DO like a 58 on is a bass drum. They sound cool to get an unbassy bass drum sound.

Re: OT: Your Thoughts on Kick Drum Mics

Just adding to whats already been said, I'm a big fan of micing the beater side of the drum.
Again depending on the style of the music, something LIKE a D112 but necessarily a D112, could be Beta...

I wasn't ribbing you at all, merely drawing more attention to the shear volume of threads/posts about these subjects, like you were.

Of course companies need to drop support for devices at some...

"(12) 8.0.1 threads. (4) Legacy threads. Jeez!!"

So does that count include this thread? Or should it be:

"(13) 8.0.1 threads. (5) Legacy threads. Jeez!!"?

Re: please confirm strange Hi-Pass filter issue...

This is the effect of Minimum phase EQ's, if you do the same with a Linear Phase eq you shouldn't get this effect.

Re: $99 Pro Tools packages?

I understand "Make it Cheap", and why it works.
But I think digidesign need to learn "There's a line", and when not to cross it.

It would look better if it wasn't badged with M-Audio too, but...
