I disagree with your conclusion. If Pro Tools was the problem, no one else would be able to run it. "Files not in the right place" would only happen if you did not accept the Pro Tools defaults.

I want to thank AIR and M-Audio for their continuing ineptitude which led me to the Roland Jupiter 50 I mentioned earlier this thread. Four days or so later ... I might be more critical if it cost...

Are you saying enable Trim on OS SSDs too or just on session drives? The reason why is ... ? And the reason to use a third party tool (which I assume if Mac only) is? Is your SSD advice just for Macs...

I know what you're talking about and have done that in the past and it works great; only it wasn't the instruments that caused the hang on the Windows logo, it was doing that before I loaded PT.

Took the SSD plunge, Samsung 840 Pro, and now have fully functional 10.3.7 and 11 installed and looking fully ready to roll.

Looks like I made it through installing fresh versions of both 10.3.7 and 11.1 on my new SSD and PT can find effects and VIs for both versions.

Great call Bruce! No go in Firefox, got through fine in Chrome. Adobe Flash and Firefox have been on edge for a while, though usually not quite to that extent.
